Reconnecting With My iPod
Tuesday January 04th 2005
OK, so perhaps the unthinkable has happened. After nearly a year of being its most devoted owner, after convincing countless other friends to buy ones of their own, I can't believe I am uttering these words: I don't use my iPod anymore.
How I got here has been a gradual but slippery slope. A year ago I was biking to work nearly every day; now however, romanced by my recently purchased Subaru, I rarely find myself pedaling around town. And even when I am in my car, I have grown tired of the wires and so-so performance of my FM transmitter. While I still think it's a keen solution and has its appropriate moments (like broadcasting to a pocket radio while you're chilling in a hut in Costa Rica waiting for the tide to roll in so you can go back out and surf some more), all I want how is a complete solution. Alpine offers one, but at a steep cost, and I just can't swallow another $500 just to cure my iPod desires. There must be a better way to rekindle our relationship. . .
Enter Westciv. I visited them this morning to reference their incredible style guide for CSS browser/platform support, and stopped dead in my tracks to read that they now have their entire CSS reference guide for the iPod. This nearly matches my excitement in receiving my new Panasonic FZ-20 digital camera (which should occur ANY HOUR NOW). Now my iPod will not only provide me endless hours of entertainment, but also educate and inspire me in my work.
All I need now is a iPod PHP Guide and iPod MySQL Guide, and I could run away to a remote beach and still code my heart out. What brilliance.
