Over There They Call It A 'Postgraduate' Degree

Thursday June 16th 2005

Over where? Across the pond. England, me boy, our English brethren. They call it a postgraduate degree, and I'm off to get me one. "One of those please, and a side of mayo for my chips. Cheers."

That's right, I'm off to obtain a postgraduate degree in Internet Applications Development from the London Metropolitan University. And I ain't travellin' alone. Mar is coming with me, and she's got a little surprise up her sleeve as well: an MA in Visual Anthropology from Goldsmiths College, part of the University of London. Starting around the first of October, we're headed Back To School. It's time to hang up the professional pants and pointy-toed shoes (hers, of course), and ride the bus (no longer yellow, and now double-decker) like the little nerdlings we are.

Plans have been set in motion, so it's going to be a quick ride from here on out. We both will stop work on July 8, move our stuff to storage around July 15, sell the rest of our worldly possessions by August 1, and visit with family and friends until August 15th, when we spread our wings and fly across the ocean.

Lots to do, so keep an eye out for more info to flow through on this site. And beware of change afoot, as well. I'm not making any promises, but this site may soon get another overhaul (for the love man, what version does that make?!)...

In case I didn't mention it, THIS IS THE GREATEST THING I'VE EVER DONE!!!!! As soon as the pressure and anxiety settle down, it'll be hard to block out the brightness of my smile. And with a partner like Marjan in my pit, I couldn't ask for a better life to forge into...

Cheers!
