Current Post:

To Teamo Supremo and all my Amigos

Monday October 06th 2003

It's an average Monday morning here at work, but life strikes me as anything but average when I look back on this past weekend. Which was not an unusual weekend for this little part of the world, because these are the sort of things that go on all the time around here. . .

The weekend started off on the boat, with myself, Tom, BBrown, and Amy Waters. Throughout the afternoon we hit the wakeboard, wakeskate, slalom ski, and the latest addition, wakesurfing. Yes, getting towed behind the boat on a surf board. Such a thrill. More pics to come on that soon. ..

Then on Sunday, Mike, Magnus, and Brian, known now as Teamo Supremo, competed in the Balance Bar Adventure Race down on Brown's Island, and they cleaned the mud pits with the pros faces. Coming in 4th overall and 1st in their age group, they smoked 2 "elite" teams and were only 15 seconds off another. Somebody sponsor these guys! Unstoppable. . .

Afterwards, however, the day improved as we moved the party down to Manchester Wall, and spent the rest of the afternoon rock climbing, while others tanned on the rocks above. Capping the night off with a couple brews at Legend's made for such a perfect ending to a great weekend.

Thus ends one of those weekends that make you smile into your pillow as you fall asleep, and hum in the shower as you wake up the following day. I'm surrounded by a collection of people that make you feel larger than life. It's a unique family that knows no limits, boundaries, or biases. While I can confidently say that I love this city of Richmond, it is more accurate that I love the people I have found here. So here's to them (and to the curly-haired beauty that got away) . . .
