The Prickly Birth of Carlos
Sunday July 24th 2005
For obvious reasons I'm keeping this post short. Pictures will have to speak for words since they're so difficult to produce at the moment. So with a little creative re-inactment, Mar and I would like to introduce the newest member of our family, Carlos. Carlos is a very white, very puffy, bundled up finger puppet living on the fourth finger of my left hand. And though you may be compelled to squeeze him with glee at first sight, I beg that you not, as he is bravely protecting the 3 fresh stitches planted in the tip of my fourth finger of my left hand.
And with his arrival, boys and girls, comes a little after-school special about how not to play with knives. I, for example, without a sharp pair of scissors at hand to cut a bundle of wires, went for the next closest thing: a long, dull, unwieldy steak knife... And now we all know how silly of an idea that was. Silly, silly John.
Forever thanks to Mar for being so strong in the face of blood (er, um, katsup) and zipping me off to the emergency room. And she earned extra bonus points for stuffing a yummy turkey sandwich down my throat as we sped through town. "Now you'll really need your protein!"
Carlos says, "Hola amigos!"
